Sounds again logical. But I have seen uncorrelated pairs producing negative results in parallel for the same strategy more than often. All these theoretical aspects sound smart, but trust me - market is smarter. It is the same thing like analyzing market sessions, where "usually" the asian session got the lowest range on average and all these night scalpers seemed to be the holy grail. Nowadays you have crazy moves during asian session more than often while trading during London session is mostly calm in comparison. You are trying to get a peace of mind situation with these theoretic...

Same goes to you, wish you best of luck.Of course I am using nongrid strategies for my portfolio as well. Never put all eggs into one basket or trading approach. But since we are in the FXCharger comment section here ... never mind. 😉

And now we have a look at your backtest example once again. There is a huge timespan (roughly but at least more than a full year), where you would suffer from a continous decreasing account balance. Looks easy to overcome in theory, but trust me you would not let a strategy run for 1-2 years without visible gains. You would start to fiddle around with the settings and get caught in the curve fitting trap!Nobody said that martingale or averaging is the jack of all trades solution. It is not. But until now your examples only undermine the benefits of averaging techniques. There is no risk free e...

Basically your post is a yes and a no.Averaging does NOT make a system profitable by itself. In consequence it does not turn a losing system into a profitable one.But you did not mention aspects like comfort to drawdown phases or general "peace of mind" growth of equity curves.A standard trading system with fixed SL and TP and positive risk/reward on each and every trade will have time periods where your balance will decrease constantly and you never know when the situation changes again. Something not everyone wants to live with, having several consecutive months losing money. Here,...

Hard to imagine how wrong you are. Backtesting is the only way to find a true statistical edge in this business. But I guess you rely on the MT4 backtester when talking about backtesting. Well, then you just have no clue.True (paid) tickdata with variable spreads and slippage simulation gives you an even worse environment than you would ever experience in live trading. Here you can look for a real diamond!Wanna know what indeed has no value? Forward testing! Why? Because you do not have 20 years of lifetime to waste evaluating a strategy just to find out after 13 years it is rubbish. And thats...

That is not true.Although FXCharger had an interesting basic concept, it was simply curve fitted to a specific market situation which existed the last years. Just ask yourself why it was not possible to backtest the system for periods before 2013!I have developed my own system based on the basic idea, but managed to make it viable for a much wider range of market conditions resulting in surviving any tests since 2003 including the financialc crisis 2008/2009 and the current Covid-19 period.

Based on the 100% risk this account is currently running at the moment ..... it is likely gone now.

Go on and write your own code if you could do better. Given the gain of the AUDUSD Charger in that short period of time a crash can happen. Bad Luck, indeed. Buth nothing to hate on.Losers always expect to get rich without any risks.. BTW: It is only a crash, if you ran the EA at 100% risk .. otherwise it is a small setback.

The account crashed unfortunately. Updating the account would make that visible. Considering the risk taken on that account something like this can happen. No pain, no gain.

You forgot to quote, that you have TWO options. Move to SC or opt for the possibility to stay in Australia until a final date/decision is made from ASIC.

The most recent aussie basket hit its stoploss and in consequence led to a loss, which should be visible once the account got updated.

I wonder, why you did not increase the risk after the first emergency stop in July this time like in all the other cases before? By this the account would have been gone with the second stop right afterwards unfortunately. Instead you have been damn lucky.I know it is a high risk approach here in this public account, but the logic is irritating in this circumstance. Can you elaborate on that? Thank you for the insight.

Hey Jason, I appreciate your detailed statement, however I am a bit shocked about your proposals - at least partly. I am trading for several years (profitable) and know the difference between pips and points very well. So when I am talking about 1-2 pips on average, I mean it. Indeed, I am owning a very extensive comparison between several brokers with perfect comparison conditions, as the same strategy is (was) running for an adequate amount of several month on all brokers in parallel. I have to admit, that this particular trading approach relies on stop orders, so I am not complaining about ...

I want to share my experience with FXCM as well.Been trading with them for approx. half a year now. The overall experience is more or less disappointing.I am running a scalping approach, which is identically running on several other brokers (all DMA!) in parallel, and although Jason is not getting tired of repeating the large amount of liquidity providers, the execution and filling at FXCM is far from competitive, despite which numbers he is presenting.Average slippage of 1-2 pips is regular and as I can see, that others can do better, it is somehow disillusioning - especially as FXCM is charg...

There is one thing, which is irritating:In your backtests you use a fixed time for opening the first orders based on GMT settings. But a 5 year backtest can not consider the yearly switch between summer- and winter time. So is the backtest based on pure luck, as it uses different entry points during summer and winter time?
