I've been paying more attention lately to how trading platforms perform during periods of extreme volatility.Most traders talk about execution speed, but I wonder if that's only part of the picture. stability matters alot when markets spike. fast execution is nice, but if the chart freezes or price feed is delayed then you are basically trading blind.
i think speed and infrastructure go together. good execution only matters if the platform can still handle volume, keep data updating, and let you manage trades without lag. during news or big moves, thats when you really find out if a platform is solid or not.

Platform stability is soo important… Imagine you enter a trade before the news (let’s say you forgot it’s about the news time), but you already set up the sl and tp. When news drops, the price either goes up or down, but you can never be sure. Anyway, let’s say price dumps heavily and triggers your stop loss. If the platform is not stable enough, you will get filled so pooorlyyy, you may lose 2x your initial sl placement, which is so bad.

They are connected. If the broker you use has a solid infrastructure behind, it means the execution speed will be solid too. So, anyway, the top priority is the infrastructure.
spot on, when the market goes mental looking at headline execution speeds is completely pointless. if the charts freeze up or data starts lagging u're basically trading blind in the dark anyway. solid backend infrastructure is what saves u from getting absolutely rinsed by sudden slippage when things get volatile.

I say the infrastructure comes first. Fast execution doesn't help much if the platform freezes, charts lag, or price feeds become unreliable. In volatile markets, stability is what keeps you trading with confidence, and execution speed is only valuable when the whole system holds up
