As wild as it seemed live watching the BREXIT unfold on the charts and watching the voting results come in live, it was pretty calm from an emotional standpoint as my system is fully automatic. It was also very systematic because they way my system trades I was half in and half out of the market while the vote was going on, not over exposing myself during the vote. I can say deciding to keep the terminal on was the right thing to do from a trading standpoint and from a system developer standpoint, a great confidence boost to see the system trade through the vote. All in all I was able to net 297 pips today, completely hands free and emotional free.

Hi Everyone,
It's dannydigitalFX and I'm the developer of the FX(SP)L trading system and welcome to 'My Trading Journal'.
With the recent explosion of social trading platforms springing up all over the place, I wanted to see if it is possible to build a sustainable business as a Signal Provider on any of these sites? I will be sharing with you my story and my journey here in 'My Trading Journal' the good the bad and the ugly as I set out on this quest. Please add me to your 'watch list' and check back frequently for updated journal entries.
Thank you,

Journal Entry(7/5)-What is FX(SP)L
A FX(SP)L is a fully automated trading Forex system, with several strategies trading as one portfolio. The focus is to create a portfolio of strategies non correlated to each other that can profit in different trading environments.
Q-Why did you create a fully automated trading system and don't manually trade with discretion instead?
A-I wanted to avoid some of the pitfalls that come along with manually trading such as, human emotions which can overcome a trader into making poor decisions which can lead to very large losses that in most cases can't be recovered.
Q-What Risk Management do you have set in place?
A-ALL TRADES ARE PLACED WITH A STOP LOSS. System also uses additional software to monitor all open positions, account floating % values and total closed % values with key levels to close out all trades if any of them are hit.
-Q-What Trade Management do you have set in place?
A-System uses several different trade management strategies individually and in combination with each other. Automatically adjusting to Break Even, Break Even Add Pips, Trailing Stop and Trailing Stop Activation Levels.
Q-How long do you hold positions?
A-Positions are held any where from several minutes/hours to several days, with all positions being closed by the end of the trading day on Friday. There are no positions held over the weekend.
Q-Do you use any grid techniques in your portfolio?
A-No not at all!
Q-Who would you recommend to follow this strategy?
A- SP(FX)Lis not for the gamblers, you know who you are out there! If you've been burnt, got caught up in the lure of profits over risk, had your account blown up, followed a strategy that didn't use a Stop Loss, was full discretionary with no trading strategy then this portfolio is for you. It's about steady growth, with reasonable risk vs return.

Journal Entry-7/6-Lack luster trading results.
So far my trading results have been lack luster as I'm hovering around the 2.63% area. I know I'm going to have to do allot better to attract long term subscribers. I recently added a new currency pair GBPUSD to the portfolio(way before the brexit mania started) so there has been some new volatility added to the portfolio and I'm looking to see the pair pay off now that it's part of the overall portfolio(IS/OOS/ and Robustness test results looked good). On the other hand it will be interesting to see how the new implied volatility that the BREXIT has brought into the market will affect the portfolio moving forward(especially the GBPUSD). I invite volatility into the market it's how big moves are captured especially when you have a nice risk/reward ratio on a pair you're trading and your Take Profit is hit.

Trading Journal Entry-(7/7)Trade History Missing?
I find myself very frustrated this morning as I spent late last night with FXCM's support help trying to find out where my trading history went on my MT4 account?? FXCM explained to me that they are only keeping the most current 3 months of trade history available on MT4 and that If I want to see the remaining history that I can log into there proprietary trading platform and see it there. Well as you can imagine I was beyond pissed off. As I'm on this journey of becoming a successful SP I'm taking advantages of the many social trading platform sites out there. Joining other sites as a SP with more then half of your MT4 trading history gone just doesn't work. Or better yet I'm on this one social trading site where there bridge publishes my trading history and now that FXCM erased more then half of it. I went from being in the green doing very well to being in the red overnight. Not because of any new bad trades but instead there bridge is only reporting 12 days of trading history and not the entire year as it's been erased. I will reach out to FXCM again and see if the archived trading history can be restored. If not I will probably leave FXCM.
As I like to say 'just another day in paradise' on another note I need to finish strong tomorrow, hopefully a new signal is generated and I can report a good 'TGIF' Report for the week ending.

TGIF Report for week ending 7/8 ended negative -44.3 pips.
Thanks to a late signal on the GBPUSD pair which acted as a hedge, turned a potential larger loss into a reasonable lost for the week. Enjoy the weekend and I'll see you back next week.

TGIF Report for week ending 7/15 Ended up +21 pips.
It was a good week of trading, the new pair and strategy helped with volatility and is starting to payoff. Rome wasn't built in a day, it's one trade, one week at a time. Over time QuantFXOpen will be a top strategy to follow and to participate in.
Thank you for following the TGIF Report each week. Till next time enjoy your weekend.
P.S- For some reason myfxbook hasn't updated the last closed trade for the day(it's closed in my mt4 terminal but is still showing open on myfxbook) which is +47pips for another .70% added to the cumulative return. Which once updated should be about 2.77%

TGIF Report for week ending 7/22 Ended -136 pips.
Getting this TGIF report out late on a Friday night well after the market has closed. Not much to say here as the headline says it all. The only silver lining in this ugly week of trading is that the next strategy and pair to be added to the portfolio that's being worked on is looking very promising. More to come about that in my journal posting, enjoy the weekend.

TGIF Report for week ending 7/29-CREATED A NEW HIGH Ended Positive +227 pips. Cumulative Return +3.86%
I had a nice comeback this week from last weeks dismal results. I was able to pick up a good amount of pips and push up my cumulative return to end positive for the month and create a new high. A small victory but a victory nerveless, with that being said, lets look forward to a great week of trading ahead and Thank you for following the TGIF Report.

Journal Entry 7/31/2016-Sunday thoughts
It's been awhile since I posted anything in my journal which is not to say I've been off enjoying the good life vacationing somewhere, quite the opposite. Still hard at work putting the next strategy pair together for the portfolio. I'm running some tests as we speak, looking to improve certain areas of the strategy, re-running it with those improved areas and re-analyzing the data. I hope to add this new strategy by the end of next month. I've also decided to give the whole portfolio a face lift, yes more work I just piled on in my pursuit off perfection. So the current strategies in the portfolio that are currently trading will be getting a face lift. I added some more computing power which will allow me to work on multiple projects at the same time. I'm aggressively turning it up, as I want to complete the additional two strategies and give all the current strategies in the portfolio a face lift with in the next 60days. It's an aggressive undertaking but I need to see this through personally and get the trading results I believe the portfolio can achieve.
On another note I created a new high in the portfolio. It's a small victory but a victory nerveless and a good moral boost to keep working hard with the payoff to come in the future. Lets have a good week of trading ahead of us, catch up with you later.

TGIF Report for week ending 8/5 Ended -73.5 pips.
Well I wasn't able to break through and create a new high this week. This seems to be a place of resistance for the portfolio as we had a chance a few weeks ago(around the 8% cumulative return area)to get a new high and I wasn't able to get it back then either. Early this morning I was trending back nicely to the upside inches away from being back into positive territory and then 8:30am came and the jobs number dropped. Well let's just say I was on the wrong side of that trade but it's nothing I stress over, it's all part of trading. As long as the Algo is properly working I'm satisfied. In my last journal posting I mentioned giving the portfolio a face lift including the strategies trading now. The improved strategies will have better trade management and will lock in those gains when early up in the week, especially for the swing trade strategies. See my earlier post 'My Trading Journal' to read about what I'm talking about. Anyways I'm talking to much, enjoy your weekend and I'll see you next week Friday for another 'TGIF' Report.

Bitter sweet as I rebound from the last two weeks and bring in +171 pips for this week to create a new high. I'm focused on making my deadline to get all the changes done to the portfolio that I mentioned in my blog which can be found on here. Enjoy your weekend and I'll see you next week Friday for another 'TGIF' Report.

TGIF Report for week ending 9/4 Ended -63.5 pips.
It pains me to write this TGIF Report as I slide another week with lack luster results. I need more than ever to finish the portfolio with the new improved strategies. I'm almost there and can't wait to add the new strategies and switch out the old strategies with the updated and improved new ones. I've learned allot so far from when I started this journey and can't wait to see how things progress once I finish the portfolio.

Journal Entry 01/08/2017-Where the hell have I been?
Happy New Years to all, It's been a crazy bumpy road but I finally got the beta portfolio done. If you have been following my journal or my weekly TGIF Reports you would've read the frustration and hard work I was putting in to trying to create, develop and complete my first portfolio. I had to unplug for those last few months in 2016 and put some ridiculous hours in but I'm glad to finally have the beta portfolio complete. I should be more excited but I'm not as I have allot of ground to make up performance wise If I'm going to try and accomplish what I set out to do that I wrote about in my original first journal posting which can be found here. My performance basically up to now can be disregarded as that was pre-beta which had allot of moving parts as I was figuring things out and trying to make my way through this entire process. Moving forward expect there to be allot of new trade activity. I will explain in upcoming posts more about the portfolio, what pairs have been added, risk, turnover, what to expect ect... and yes the TGIF Report will be returning!
Thank you for the those who have stuck with me through out this process.

Journal Entry(2/7)-Secret Algo just for you hmmm
Yes that's exactly what FXCM created just for you, a secret algo to trade against its clients on its so called No Dealing Desk. Don't take my word for it read it for yourself from the CFTC, click here https://www.cftc.gov/PressRoom/PressReleases/pr7528-17#PrRoWMBL We now have how many options in the US for a retail Forex trader? Less options never brings upon better opportunity as there is less competitive competition with what's left. If Gain Capital was next to close down it's US operations what options would be left for a trader in the US who wants to open up a retail account in the US? Anyways something to think about as we all try and create our own way in the currency markets.

TGIF Report-Week Ending Feb 10th Ended Positive For The Week, Captured +167 pips For A Cumulative Return of 10% which is a new HIGH!!!**
I'm happy to say that at the close of trading today I will have made a new high in the portfolio of 10%. It's not reflected yet but once myfx updates the account it will reflect it. When I started this project a year and half ago I wasn't able to create a new high as the portfolio was being build out during that period. The portfolio was completed at the end of December 2016 and started trading forward in January of this year and since then it has had some early promising results. No early celebration here as I still have a long way to go but it does feel good to see the hard work pay off. Tune in next week for another TGIF Report as I see If I can build on this moment.

TGIF Report-Week Ending Feb 17th Ended Positive For The Week, Captured +82 pips For A Cumulative Return of 11.82% which is a new HIGH!!!**
The streak continues as I was able to create another New High in the portfolio locking in 82pips for this weeks for a Cumulative Return of 11.8%(give it until Sunday to update here on myfxbook). Things got interesting during Janey Yellens testimony as the dollar briefly strengthened and eventually turned in my overall direction. Either way I felt comfortable as I was hedged with some of the positions long the dollar and short, not on the same pair but hedged through the other pairs being traded in the portfolio. It just came down to a balancing act which the portfolio did very well. Stay tuned next week for another TGIF Report. I soon hope to be approved as a SP where you'll be able to share in the gains of this portfolio.
Thank you
The streak continues as I was able to create another New High in the portfolio locking in 82pips for this weeks for a Cumulative Return of 11.8%(give it until Sunday to update here on myfxbook).
