is this running with just the default settings? i.e. only the highlighted news events under the forexfactory calender or the other calendar?

Yes it has default settings. It is not news, it is economic data published regularly same time: retail sales m/m, michigan consumer sentiment etc.

cool I know there are many more events in a month so just checking the low number of trades was because it's just trading on events with the likelihood of bigger moves and that is the default settings. I am trying it out now.

I notice for each event it has vol=0.1 does this mean the risk is 10% per trade? i.e. it uses a lot size that based on the hard Stop Loss risks 10% of the account per trade? cheers

For 10 USD, a volume of 0.1 means a risk of 0.1%

so the standard settings for the EA are risking 0.1 percentage point of the account? that seems extraordinary low, I just noticed the SL seems to be being placed a long distance from entry, so it seemed that it was actually 10% of the account at risk. can I email you privately and send you a screen shot to show you what I mean. thanks.

It was going to close using the zero function of the EA on Friday. I pulled the stoploss away because I believe it is the right direction for USDJPY awaiting for the FRS decision next week!!

sorry I was referring to my own account, when I use strategy one of the pending orders, it seems to be placing a very large SL, which would represent much more than a 1% loss of the account if hit. please PM your email. cheers

Is the SL 200 pips. I am finding that for instance with FOMC decision I selected the str1 option with the pending orders, it had vol=0.1% I thought this mean it was risking 1% or 0.1% of the account size where it would set the SL. However it opened 0.18 lots on a $1,500 account and set a 200 pip Take profit and 200 pip SL. The SL size is insane for a news trading EA? Can you explain am I missing a setting somewhere? why is SL so large?

I can't see where I can set the SL amount though? and if I use the vol setting it doesn't translate to a small SL, only huge 200 pips SL which is very large for news trading...

You set all the parameters in the view of any event. Click it to see. Starting from the version 7.0 you can also use the global properties available via the MT4 menu > EA Properties.

okay definitely global properties will be a big advantage rather than setting for each event individually. cheers
