I don't know why but your tradefort account isn't showing the levels as having reached 9 like mine. But mine clearly reached 9 2 days ago and stopped trading all other pairs besides a/u and e/g (both having reached level 9). It became clear to me that I had to set FreezeatHighestLevel and CloseatBreakEvenifHighestLevel to 11 just to keep it trading other pairs while waiting on the a/u basket and e/g basket to close. The a/u basket closed this morning and the e/g is still sitting at level 9 with a level 10 pending.

I setted those freeze levels to protect accounts and keep DD steady. If you want to change, you can, but your account will be more risky.

Thanks for your fast response...I spoke with you on skype about a possible improvement to these protection features.

D4amenace:

I find that it takes time to understand those new functions, it is little bit danger to fooling around with real money, Also I know that there are more new functions in newer version which is more confusing, I hope that they can give US longer time for Demo before the real IB version.

Thanks for the advice. I have been following the development of TG for a while and have a handle on its operation. The two account protection features I reference are issues I experienced with real money on a live account. They appear to be redundant and I suggested that the operation of the two be made unique in the next iteration.

currently I have a 'big' audnzd batch opened (13 trades) for 3 days now.
so the EA freeze all the other pairs, the problem: no trade at all closed in 3 days.
so the account is protected, but the profit are very low.

so 40% in 3 weeks
and 130% for FE + Kangaroo for the same period.

That's because the Percentages are based on initial deposit and since they started with a tiny initial deposit it looks bigger than it actually is..
If you are makeing less than 100% a month you aren't doing it right!

This is a result of this kind of martingale strategy. You have 2 options. 1) you can wait for the audnzd to turn and breakeven or....2) you can increase the two options I listed about to 14 apiece. Logically this will increase risk since the audnzd (13 trades will still be in dd) and you will continue to open more pairs. The risk decision is yours to make but you will still consistently be earning from other pairs while waiting for the breakeven to occur.

I agree with you that new version 1.5.1 is very conservative.
New functions are a sart of insurance. You pay them every months, but when disaster happens, you have your account safe!
I'm studing new set for different risk and balance, to do that i have different account in live.

After what happened last month, i prefer to be conservative than aggressive. After a right period ot test i will release more aggressive set.

Anyone interested in having a look at the
performances of TTG 1.5.1 with different brokers ?

https://www.myfxbook.com/members/sdek4x

Starting capital and settings are the same ( Standard)

Starting all with 2,750$.
Pepperstone , Synergy Fx , IC Markets , RVD Markets , Tradefort
1/400 1/100 1/500 1/500 1/ 500
Will only have to lift 1/100 Leverage @ Synergy to get at least 1/400.

Citrullone

RVD at this time performs the better . I like pretty much the conservative approach
of the new version ... with all those freeze options ...and CABE after one of the pair
reach level 6 .... this is why , you will see , 2 or 3 trades , closed at Breakeven .. and frozen till
the greatest baskets are closed at BE .... this is to free up some Margin Use and give pairs in DD
a larger breeze ... so far , so good on Demo ...

Have been burned by Envy several time ...in Demo and real money .... . Negative basket formed
with erratic TP ...are mostly due to Brokers with High Spread ...on AUD/NZD ... this could be corrected
if you add some coding on the TP setting.
a) this could be typed by the user himself when introducing EA Parameters
   Pair 01 = Average Spread = Points = 20 ( 2 pips on EUR/USD)
   Pair 0#? = Average Spread = Points = 100 ( 10 pips on AUD/NZD) - at Tradefort in this case.

b) on the EA Dashboard you have a spread monitoring feature for each pair ...that could be used ( inserted) at
the time the EA calculates the Basket take profit ( TP) ...

Thumbs up to your good work ...long live to TG.

Hi, good tests, but it's too early, 4 trading days are so few.
With some brokers i suggest to disable AUDNZD for it's bad spread. Anyway TG have an internal spread function to avoid problems with high spread.
Thank you for compliments. I will go on working on new version with new ideas!

Agree Citrullone , toooo early. but ....the idea is to find the best broker for this Grid strategy. , especially when
you plan to close several trades ( baskets ) at Breakeven.

BE at Tradefort are always loosers for several pips (Negative profit) . This is why I started testing TG with 5 Brokers at the same time w/ same settings.

Citru .. did you ever though about coding a trailing stop function on a whole basket ? It seems that this is already built in when
first trade of a basket open ... sometimes if opened with the trend this single trade (0,01 lot) go to its TP and seems to be using a trailing stop. Am I right ?? .

I am Forex Envy user from July, I was margin call twice with live accounts and money was gone, I am still running it and it have performmed very well during Sept, I had one account recover but hoping that it will recover all soon.

I am TotalGrid user as well for 2 months, I have live accounts on Hotforex, Pepperstone, XEmarket, TradeFort from 4 weeks to 7 weeks with profit from 35% to 55%, Although Pepperstone has the lowest spread, Both pepperstone, XEmarket, Tradefort perform quite close, while Hotforex is the worst one in order of profits.

Today, Both Pepperstone, Xemarket, Tradefort accounts had a big E/B level 12 basket and closed, almost blew up my accounts , but Hotforex did not have this big basket problem this time.

I like TotalGrid, It doesn't need as much equity to run as Forex Envy, I like those many Freeze functions, However, they do reduce profit quite a bit.

The tricky part of Grid martingale EA is that, How much time they double their money before blew up and how to find a sweet spot of Risk/reward setfile, So make sure you have your own plan to handle this situation before blow up.

Forex Envy will open up their baselots buy/sell same time
Total Grid improve it, It open up baselot upon 30 min trend direction.
Sometime, I am thinking that it might be a better idea that it has option that it open up its ( Level 1) baselot based on H1 or H4 or Dairy stockastic value than 80 for sell or 20 for buy because they have much more chance to be retraced.

Ricky101 ,

could you update your MyFxbook publishing ...so all here can have a look.
About Envy ... you can have a look at Bealbull myfxbook member.

He is doing something interesting with Envy , scalping small retracements , and other tricks he use to
safeguard funds ... but his approach ( I like) is quite different from others trading Martingale,Grids and Pyramids.

If a minimum of 2,500$ or cents is needed to start this kind of EA with a baselot of 0,01 ... and you have 10,000$
to 'gamble/play' on this EA , you will acheive better/safer results to load a copy of your EA on week #1 with 1/4
of your capital , then another copy of your EA on week#2 with another 1/4 of your funds , and so on till 4/4 portion
is 'running' , each one with a starting capital of 2,500$ ....instead of running your 10,000k with a baselot of 0,04.

This could also be implemented in TotalGrid ...playing with the magic numbers.

New Baskets will then be started at different levels of each pair trend , because started at different time with only a portion of
the whole capital ... . This shoud allow , non stop trading , ...you can then FATP ( freeze after take profit) any cycle or baskets or EA ...to retreive the profit of this portion of your investment ... comments welcome .... thanks BB you are here too.

I'll have a look.

From the DDs I suggest the account is massively over trading. If MyFxBook is showing 50% DD, well the real time tick DD would be MUCH higher.

Will report more soon.

Sorry to hijack 'Totalgrid' forum.

Hi sDek4X, After using Forex Envy for awhile, I figured out those small account tricks naturally, It is cumbersome to maintain many accounts but it is safer, Forex Envy has limited licenses to do it, but Totalgrid doesn't have this limitation, This trick works for TotalGrid as well.

Regarding scalping using Forex Envy, I will stay away with this, If you believe that LV short pair is danger and Long pair is safer, Then scalping is extremely danger, Unless it is able to connect to news server and stop trading before big news and able to stop trading and close trades with stronger trend or only doing it at very low level of grid.( Forex Envy just use a simple indicator to detect trend only).

Also, FATP in Forex Envy world is difference than FATP is TotalGrid world, you need time to figure it out, both has good or bad. However, The idea behind that
1), Limit building basket to higher level and reserve more money for big basket.
2). it creates a (Level 1) base baseket at difference time so it form different basket for safe reason with suddenly strong trend , remember that 'do not put all eggs on same basket'.

Regarding high DD for TotalGrid, It started with $500, it grew to $1,200 and it has a big DD of 70%, I guess that starting equity is too low, I checked with Their website FAQ, it recommand that starting with $500 (Alcuni esperimenti hanno dato ottimi risultati partendo capitali di $500), I checked with their backtest for version 1.51, it started with $2,000, I will think that $2,000 is more reasonable, but $3,000 is better, Recently, its big drawndown came, with $3,500, its drawdown is aprom 30%.

For Extra 'Freezing' function in Totalgrid 15.1, it is safer but it greatly reduces profit as well, This month, 7 trading day profits is 2.75% which is one normal trading day profit, I checked with 2 recently big drawdown, it came from those pair using 'Short' small grid ( 30 pip below), I am wondering that which one is better using risk setting 33333333, ( bigger grid) with higher 'Freezing' step might be safe as well as more profits than default setting of 4444444444. Hoping some nice guy with good backtest data to test it.

Was the deposit of 10,000 made to prevent blow up?

Yes it was, but it will not protect the account.

Soon the party will be over, one more account blown.
