Australia NAB Business Confidence
The National Australia Bank's poll of market confidence is based on a telephone survey of around 600 small, medium, and large non-agricultural businesses. A simple average of trading, profitability and employment indicators stated by respondents for their selected businesses are used to generate the Survey's estimates for business conditions for the upcoming month. The indices are produced by separating the percentage of respondents who nominate good or very good, or an increase, by the percentage of respondents who nominate poor or very poor, or a decrease.
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the AUD while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the AUD.

The unemployment rate in Australia came in at a seasonally adjusted 4.1 percent in January, the Australian Bureau of Statistics said on Thursday - in line with expectations and up from 4.0 percent in December.

Australia Cuts Key Interest Rate For First Time Since 2020
The Reserve Bank of Australia lowered its benchmark rate for the first time since 2020 as upside risks to inflation eased but policymakers remained cautious about further easing. The policy board of the RBA governed by Michele Bullock decided to reduce the cash rate target by 25 basis points to 4.10 percent. The decision came in line with expectations.
