Chile's state-owned company CODELCO, is the world's largest copper producer at the moment. The country is primarily reliant on copper exports (which account for 48% of total sales). 38% of overall exports in Chile is accounted for manufactured products and include processed foods, such as salmon, chemicals, cellulose and paper, forestry and wood products, and metals, machinery, and equipment. In addition, the country exports fresh fruit and wine. The most important export partners are China (which accounts for 32% of total sales), the United States (14%), Japan (9%) South Korea (7%), and Brazil (5%). Peru, the Netherlands, Taiwan, and Mexico are among the other partners.

A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the CLP while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the CLP.
