Housing (25.2% of the total weight), Transport, and Communication accounting for 20.6% are the most important categories in Israel's consumer price index. 16.5% goes to Food, 11.7% to Education, Culture, and Entertainment, and 9.7% to Dwelling Maintenance. Health (5.2%), Miscellaneous Goods and Services (4.3%), Furniture and Household Equipment (3.7%), and Clothing and Footwear (3.1%) are the remaining categories in the index. As of 2012, the national index has a base value of 100.
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the ILS while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the ILS.
