Exports of goods and services account for 28% of GDP, while imports account for 30%, subtracting 2% from the country's gross domestic product.
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the GBP while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the GBP.

UK Jobless Rate Rises, Wage Growth Remains High
The UK unemployment rate rose slightly in the third quarter and wage growth remained high but falling vacancies suggests a decrease in pay pressures, official data showed on Tuesday.
