United States New Home Sales
The signing of a sales contract or the receipt of a deposit constitutes the completion of the sale of a new home. The house can be in any stage of development: it could be in the planning stages, in the middle of construction, or completely finished. In the United States, new house sales account for around 10% of the total housing market. New single-family home sales are particularly unpredictable from month to month, and early estimates are subject to significant changes due to the fact that they are derived mostly from data derived from building permits.
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the USD while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the USD.

New residential construction in the U.S. tumbled by more than expected in the month of October, according to a report released by the Commerce Department on Tuesday. The report said housing starts dove by 3.1 percent to an annual rate of 1.311 million in October after slumping by 1.9 percent to a revised rate of 1.353 million in September.

Homebuilder confidence in the U.S. has improved by much more than anticipated in the month of November, according to a report released by the National Association of Home Builders on Monday. The report said the NAHB/Wells Fargo Housing Market Index climbed to 46 in November after rising to 43 in October. Economists had expected the index to inch up to 44.
