Daiso California Recalls Certain Prepackaged Snacks

(RTTNews) - La Mirada, California-based Daiso California LLC is recalling certain prepackaged snacks due to undeclared allergen ingredients, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said.

The products contain milk, soy, wheat, or tree nuts, such as almonds, cashew, or coconut. The recall was initiated after it was discovered that packaging did not adequately disclose the presence of all allergens.

The affected prepackaged snacks were sold in Daiso stores in California, Washington, Nevada, Texas, New York, and New Jersey.

People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk, soy, wheat, or tree nuts may get serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

However, there have been no reported cases of allergic reaction related to these products to date.

Sale of the products have been suspended, and Daiso California has pulled the products from store shelves.

Consumers who have purchased the affected snacks are urged to return them to any Daiso store for a full refund.

In similar recalls, Daiso in early February had called back certain snacks for undeclared soybeans and milk allergen ingredients.

In January, the company recalled certain Matsunaga Mini Shiruko Sand Biscuits citing undeclared soy, as well as various Tohato and Kashiwado snacks citing undeclared allergen ingredients, such as Almond, Peanuts, Soybean, Sesame, Milk and Shellfish.
