Hi @Wamski I don't use fxvm because AWS works for me and it's free so I save $19 every month. Maybe other traders would find it useful to have a free VPS, and they can decide if it is good enough.

Hi, I use AWS EC2 and have had no problems. I run 2 instances of MT4 with 15 charts. It's a great basic VPS for a couple of MT4's, if you are intending to use a lot of platforms running a lot of EA's then it will struggle.

The thread is about books and learning, it is not about if technical analysis works or not.

Why do you feel that you always need to give you opinion, why can't you offer help if you can when someone asks for it. The question at the start of this thread was a great question asked by someone at the start of their journey. The fact that you feel TA does not work for you is irrelevant, not everyone is born a computer genius, the phrase IMHO might be useful for your future posts. To say that an author is selling books because they can't make a living from trading is obviously wrong, someone can be a successful trader and write a book at the same time, what's wrong with having e...

Market Manipulation?

Yes I see that and you are right there, but how can anyone look at a chart and say that the patterns are caused by manipulation, there are so many traders doing different things, no one can say what is happening.Greggy lost on those trades, but what about the traders that didn't, how can there be manipulation if you loose and when you win it's trading skill?. I made 17.01% that day from the same patterns I could see on his attached charts “showing manipulation” is that positive manipulation that benefited me?My point to Greggy was he lost those trades, why? because his sys...

Your charts match mine, there is no manipulation. The increase in volatility has caused your system to breakdown because your system is probably not designed to take advantage of volatility. The market does what it does, you can draw lines to show patterns on past prices but it does not mean the market will obey that in the future, it's not that easy. You have had some really good advice from other traders on all your posts, if you listen to them it will help you. Keep it up T...

Tony, your strategies would have a lot more meaning to the community if you showed some history of them with demo accounts, we could comment and maybe start a good discussion, to me they are random lines on a chart. Why don't you show us where the price will go and not where it has been, you can't trade the left of the chart.😄
Martingale Money Management and the TPS method

Hello,In your example of a system that after 3 (or is it 4 losses) always won, you wouldn't need martingale. The trader would trade demo and after the 4th loss trade huge volume on a real account because it would win. That certainty of a 5th win would mean you would have a system made up of two parts, a demo that would have losses and a real account that always wins.Without the above guaranteed 5th win system, the fact is if you use martingale every trade is risking a large %, and because you are risking a large % do you start with tiny lot sizes ?.

Hi,“I am trying to programm an strategy, but I need to set the EA to work only when there is a trend. Or at least when the price is not moving sideways ”.I find the correct MA (for your strategy), is a simple way for the EA to trade when there is a trend, I use an MA, it is flat in a sideways market and when a trend is established it has an up or down direction, so regarding your question, it works for me when there is a trend. It helps me to filter out noise. “When the price is above the MA, the price 'is going up', and when the price is under the MA, the price '...

Hi, I use a moving average to confirm trends, for your EA it might be an easy way to keep you out of a sideways market. It also keeps me from trading in the wrong direction, I prefer trading with the trend. The hard part is catching the start of the trend, maybe this can lead to more discussion.Hope this helps.

HiThere is a slight difference in my brokers execution which I suppose is to be expected, sometimes it's better, sometimes it's worse than the master but not by much. At the moment I am happy with the EA, I will keep you updated if you like.
