I've experienced off quotes with FXCM mt4 On Live Accounts in the past. Sometimes you can't close profitable positions.
I couldn't tell you exactly why this broker has off quotes more than any other broker I've ever used.
Having off quotes, would normally mean the price changed but here's FXCM explanation.

Quote from FXCM
""
How do I avoid Off Quotes?
While FXCM continues to make improvements to our MT4 platform, Off Quotes may happen on the MT4 platform in the future due to MT4 technology limitations.
MT4 EA users can avoid Off Quotes if they code their EAs for Strategy Trader - FXCM's automated trading platform built for No Dealing Desk execution. Unlike the MT4 platform, no software bridge or Auto Account Syncs are used. This decreases the time it takes to execute trades and simplifies account management so that you can focus on finding trading opportunities.""
Wow. They blame it on MT4 Technology and suggest to use their proprietary trading platform instead. 😁

Hi Everyone,
If you are getting Off-Quote you can increase the max deviation to reduce the likelihood of it appearing. If you receive the Off-Quote message, it means the market price is different from the price you requested in your order. You can enable max deviation and set it to 10 or 20, which indicates 1.0 or 2.0 pips. This gives you flexibility in case the price has moved when the order is submitted for execution.
See xgavinc's post 2 up for instructions on how to set a default max deviation for every order.
And finally, just a reminder that trading closes today at 21:55GMT and will open again on Sunday at 22:15 GMT.
Have a great weekend!

Are you Dealing Desk broker?
Hello Dhymas,
FXCM has both No Dealing Desk and Dealing Desk forex execution. So our traders can choose which they prefer.
We recommend No Dealing Desk forex execution to our clients because it provides our best all around trading experience. For traders whose main concern are spreads, we offer dealing desk execution where the spread is about 1 pip tighter than the NDD execution. There are certain limitations to the dealing desk offering which you can view in the comparison chart here http://www.fxcm.com/advantages/forex-execution/compare-execution-types/
Let me know if you have any questions.
