Hi mlawson,You will notice that most trading volume at most brokers was down in February and FXCM was no exception. Trading volume tends to follow market volatility, and the forex market in February was generally low volatility.Jason

Hi grtrader,While FXCM has withdrawn from business in the US, there are no changes to traders doing business with FXCM companies outside the US. With the exit, FXCM will be in a better position to service our international customers and focus on our profitable subsidiaries. Jason

Hi Everyone,While I can't comment on the NFA or CFTC complaint specifically due to the nature of our settlement, I can say that we have settled with the NFA and CFTC without admitting or denying any of their allegations or claims. I can also say that Effex Capital is no longer pricing FXCM's NDD forex price feed. It's worth noting that FXCM would not have suffered more than $200 millon dollars in losses during the SNB flash crash had it been taking the other side of client trades – unlike so many of the DD firms in the industry.Part of our settlement with the NFA and CFTC was...

Thanks for your reply. I'm taking note of the strategies people request to see if the signal providers want to consider offering them as automated strategies to run either on Trading Station or perhaps MT4. I'll let you know if I have any news regarding these particular strategies.

Thanks for your feedback, DrolphYou mention that you see 1 to 2 pips slippage regularly. As of the latest publicly available data from December 31, 2016, FXCM has 178,782 active accounts. It would be hard for us to have client base of this size if slippage was as large or as frequent as you have seen, so I would like to troubleshoot three possible causes with you.1. Is it possible you are counting tenths of a pip, and not full pips? Note that if you are using the MT4 platform, then FXCM quotes prices to five digits past the decimal point. The MT4 platform may refer to the last digit automatica...

Welcome to the forum, Dashurik :)While I can't recommend a specific signal provider to you, I can tell you a bit about the approach I personally use for selecting signal providers. If you've tried a demo of the Mirror Trader platform, you have noticed it's possible to search for signal providers AKA strategies based on a variety of filters. In the past, I have tested strategies based RAR (Risk Adjusted Return) and ROI (Return On Investment). After years of experience with Mirror Trader, I have settled on T-Score as my favorite filter even though the exact formula is kept private as ...

Unfortunately, there seems to be some confusion here @c3po What you have described is the normal spread widening that can occur when a major news event is announced. That's why you notice it happening before a major selloff. On our No Dealing Desk (NDD) forex execution model, FXCM takes the best bid price and the best ask price from our competing liquidity providers.https://assets.fxcm.com/responsive/img/pages/about/liquidity-providers/liquidity-providers-logo-group-desktop.jpgThe spreads you see are based on the spreads from these competing firms. During major news events, liquidity provi...

As explained above, our DD price for Mini accounts differs from the NDD price for Standard accounts by a fixed amount (the pip markup). Since our DD price moves up and down in lockstep with our NDD price (something you can confirm for yourself by having demo or live accounts of each type open side by side) there is no question of us hunting stops on either execution model.Actually, it is c3po who has not proved his case regarding alleged stop hunting. I believe he is confused about how to take into account the bid-ask spread when he is in short position, which is why he thinks we are targeting...

You make a great point, @Charles_F While trading is not for everyone, the opportunities do exist. FXCM's guide on the traits of successful traders explains how the minority who make money overall tend apply certain best practices which the majority ignore either due to lack of knowledge or discipline. For example, open nearly any book on trading and the advice is the same: Cut your losses early and let your profits run. When your trade goes against you, close it out—better to take a small loss early than a big loss later. But how many traders actually put this into practice?Historical...

@c3po and @CliveCampbell, FXCM does not hunt stops. For Standard accounts (5k minimum opening balance) and Active Trader accounts (25k minimum), we use No Dealing Desk (NDD) forex execution. That means each client order is offset one-for-one with the best prices from competing liquidity providers. Therefore, we don't profit from client losses or lose from client profits on the NDD model, and have no reason hunt stops.https://assets.fxcm.com/responsive/img/pages/about/liquidity-providers/liquidity-providers-figure-1-desktop.jpgFurthermore, it's worth noting that we use the same base pric...

@fstillrich welcome to the forum!I would be happy to look into this for you. Are you referring to the spread on a specific currency pair? Also, what time of night did this occur exactly? For reference, you can look at our historical spreads which you will find are competitive with other brokers: http://bit.ly/2emMd1BThe No Dealing Desk (NDD) forex execution FXCM provides to all Standard and Active Trader accounts offsets each client order one-for-one with the best bid and ask prices from multiple liquidity providers:https://assets.fxcm.com/responsive/img/pages/why-fxcm/liquidity-providers/uk/l...

@TradALot it seems like when you added your FXCM account to your Myfxbook porfolio, you selected MetaTrader 4 as your platform. Even if you use the MT4 platform to run your EA, you must add your FXCM account to your Myfxbook portfolio by selecting Trading Station as your platform. This will load your account history from FXCM's back office properly including commissions. 😄

@indidream it appears @pipdetector has not been active on this site since 2011, so it seems unlikely he will reply now. It would be hard for me to guess what he even meant without knowing more details. That said, if you have any specific questions about FXCM, I would be happy to answer them. First, it's important to understand that FXCM offers the same execution options for MT4 users as we do for Trading Station users. In fact, if you have an MT4 account with FXCM, your login details will allow you to use all three versions of Trading Station (Desktop, Mobile and Web) on the same account.F...

@bhzgold where are you located? FXCM is regulated in major financial centers around the world, so I would be happy to discuss specifics with you based on your country of residence. For example, the latest CFTC data show traders have more money on deposit with FXCM than any other US-regulated forex broker.http://i.imgur.com/kLZbbRo.png

@voipexpert what was your Maximum Deviation setting for these orders? If you find you are getting the "Off quotes" message frequently, it could indicate your Maximum Deviation is set too low for the market conditions. An "Off quotes" message on your MT4 platform means the price that was available in the market was outside the Maximum Deviation range you specified for your order. Therefore, your order was canceled instead of executing at the available price to prevent you from receiving negative slippage outside your specified tolerance. Slippage is a risk of a trading in any...
