TThere is also a difference in order execution on demo account and live account. So the thing is trading live you might face the slippage which is a bit annoying for scalpers. However everything else is quite similar in case you have a good strategy.

Well, it is probably depends a lot of a person. I don't think that trading will ever replace the day job for me; i actually love what I’m doing. However trading is something that much more different from what I’m doing. So it is like a chance to make my brain working in the opposite direction. I love to analyze market; I’m that kind of geek who use at least 3 indicators on each chart. So it is more like hobby for me.

I've seen that on bloomberg tv, good trade. Made somewhere around 300 pips on gbpusd.

I don't know, I wouldn't be able to quit working for trading, especially since i trade at H1 time-frame..I prefer thinking of forex as my back-up or a possibility to make a couple of extra euros. That what let me keep being risky.

well, i don't know...only once I made a good profit based on the information about the last news. Not sure that it is possible to say for 100% which way the prices go after the specific information.

Actully I've been thinking about the phenomen of why MT is so popular. Probably 80% of the traders are offering MT4. So yesterday i tried +500, some kind of a french platform. It's not bad, however i'm probably used to MT4, so it wasn't ot comfortable for me to trade there. Anyways, i'll keep using my testing account, see where it is going. 😀

The other thing that i'm thinking about is the algorithm that the EA based on. Like if it is short-time trading robots they won't actually give you the correct result since they are out the real working conditions and they have more time to react on the price changing. But if robot is based on some kind of a system that works according to the long-term price changing logic, the EA back tests result are to be closer to the live trading.

I feel like i'm in wrong place. 5 months whith only 1 month of live trading. Trading just for some additional income. Have you started the same way, or you've been into it from the very beginning?

Well, I believe that whether or not consider Forex as a gambling depends on the trader's personality. For example one might just look at the candles, trying to catch a right moment, sometimes placing the orders based on his own vision/prediction/feelings - this is a kind of gambling. But on the other side we have people with million trend lines on their charts, thousand of indicators etc. So for those guys trading is a mathematician. Forex is something specific that attracts very different people. and this is my vision

What I've discovered it is all depends of the logic tha ea uses. some of them actually very close in real usage to the backtests. Anyway..I'll keep looking for the one that'll fit me)

As for me, back tests are to be done every time. At least theycould help you to understand the way the EA works and to figureout the settings you are going to use. Even if the results are not very truthful, you will know how the EA operates and what you need to chnage.
